Description:
4-5” tall. Early to mid fall blooming. This Crocus has been cultivated for thousands of years as the source of the precious spice, saffron. The flowers, with their long purple-streaked lilac petals, have the stunning, intensely red stamens at their center. The saffron containing stamens are harvested and dried to be used to flavor and color food. A heavy bloomer, the flowers appear in early-to mid-fall.
