Description:
18-24” x 8” wide, (seed propagated). Different from many of its Blazing Star relatives, Scaly Blazing Star has a pleasing, loosely formed flowering spike with up to 40 rather large individual flowers per spike. Long blooming from early summer into September, it is native to a wide section of the eastern and mid-western states and can be grown successfully over most of the country. Scaly Blazing Star is a magnet for a wide variety of butterflies.
It is easily grown in any lean to average garden soil.
